Author Fees & Manual Payment Instructions

Journal of Tropical AgriFood (JTAF) applies transparent publication charges. Submission is free, while publication and optional services are charged only where applicable.

Payment never determines editorial acceptance. All manuscripts remain subject to editorial screening, peer review, research-integrity requirements, and JTAF publication policies.

1. Article Submission Fee

No submission fee is charged. Authors may submit manuscripts to JTAF without payment.

2. Optional English Translation / Language Service

JTAF publishes accepted articles in English. Authors submitting manuscripts in Indonesian may use JTAF's optional professional English translation or language service at a flat rate of IDR 250,000 per article.

Authors may also use an independent professional translation or language-editing service, provided that the final manuscript meets JTAF's academic English standards.

3. Optional Fast-Track Review

The optional Fast-Track Review service is charged at IDR 300,000. This service accelerates the initial editorial and peer-review workflow, but does not guarantee acceptance and does not alter JTAF's editorial, ethical, or peer-review standards.

4. Article Publication Charge (APC)

For manuscripts accepted for publication, JTAF applies an Article Publication Charge (APC) of IDR 500,000 per article to support publication operations, editorial production, layout preparation, DOI registration, online dissemination, and long-term archiving.

This APC applies to articles scheduled for publication in JTAF issues from December 2026 onward.

5. Fee Waiver / Special Consideration

Authors who are unable to pay an applicable publication fee may contact the JTAF Editorial Office to request a waiver or special consideration. Requests are evaluated separately from editorial and peer-review decisions. Financial limitations should not prevent the publication of scientifically worthy work.

6. Manual Payment Procedure

JTAF uses a manual payment verification procedure for publication charges and applicable optional services.

When payment is required, the Corresponding Author will receive an official payment notice containing:

• Submission ID;
• Article title;
• Type of fee;
• Amount payable;
• Authorized payment account;
• Payment instructions; and
• Payment confirmation procedure.

Authorized payment-account information is provided directly in the official payment notice. JTAF does not recommend transferring funds using payment information obtained from unofficial messages or third parties.

7. Payment Confirmation & Verification

After completing payment, the Corresponding Author should send the payment receipt or transaction evidence to the JTAF Editorial Office.

Important Payment Rules

• Payment of an APC, Fast-Track Review fee, translation fee, or other service fee does not guarantee manuscript acceptance.
• Payment does not influence editorial decisions or peer-review outcomes.
• Fast-Track Review is an optional editorial service and is separate from the APC.
• The APC is charged only in accordance with the applicable JTAF publication-fee policy.
• Payment is considered completed only after verification by the Editorial Office.
• Authors should not make payments based on unofficial messages, personal requests, or unverified third-party instructions.
