Frequently Asked Questions
Fast-Track Review & Editorial Screening
Practical guidance for requesting Fast-Track Review and communicating with the JTAF Editorial Office through OJS.
Do I need to send my manuscript through WhatsApp before submitting?
No. WhatsApp pre-screening is no longer part of the official JTAF submission workflow. Authors should prepare the manuscript according to the Author Guidelines and submit directly through the JTAF Online Submission System.
How do I request Fast-Track Review?
Submit the manuscript through JTAF OJS and indicate your request for Fast-Track Review in the Comments for the Editor field. The Editorial Office will first conduct an initial editorial screening.
Does a Fast-Track request automatically mean the manuscript is eligible?
No. The manuscript must first pass the initial editorial screening. The Editorial Office will confirm Fast-Track eligibility after checking scope, manuscript preparation, anonymization, metadata, references, research integrity, and other submission requirements.
What happens if my manuscript is incomplete?
The Editorial Office may open a Pre-Review Discussion in OJS and request corrections before the manuscript proceeds to peer review. Authors should respond and provide the requested corrections through OJS.
Can I send manuscript corrections through WhatsApp?
Official manuscript corrections and editorial communication should be handled through OJS so that the submission record remains complete and traceable. WhatsApp may be used only as an informal notification channel when necessary.
Should I pay the Fast-Track fee immediately after submission?
No. Authors must wait until the Editorial Office confirms Fast-Track eligibility and sends an official payment notice. Do not make a payment based only on a submission confirmation or informal communication.
How much is the Fast-Track Review fee?
The Fast-Track Review service fee is IDR 300,000. It is an optional service fee for expedited editorial handling and review administration.
Is the Fast-Track fee the same as the Article Publication Charge (APC)?
No. The Fast-Track Review fee is IDR 300,000, while the current APC is IDR 500,000 per accepted article. These are separate charges for different purposes.
Does Fast-Track Review guarantee acceptance?
No. Fast-Track affects processing priority only. The manuscript remains subject to the same editorial screening, research-integrity requirements, double-blind peer review, revision requirements, and editorial decision standards.
How fast is Fast-Track processing?
JTAF targets initial editorial handling and reviewer coordination within up to 2 working days after Fast-Track eligibility and payment verification. The duration of peer review may vary according to reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and revision requirements.
Does Fast-Track guarantee earlier publication?
Not necessarily. Fast-Track accelerates editorial handling and peer-review administration. Final publication scheduling depends on acceptance, completion of production, issue capacity, and the JTAF publication schedule.
When is the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) issued?
An LoA is issued only after the manuscript has received a formal editorial decision of acceptance. Where applicable, it may be issued within 2 × 24 hours after acceptance and completion of the required administrative process.
Where can I check the status of my Fast-Track submission?
Authors should monitor their OJS dashboard and registered email address. Official editorial discussions, requests for correction, review progress, and workflow notifications are managed through OJS.
