Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINE

 

ULIN, Journal of Tropical Forests, is a forum to publish research results in the forestry sector. ULIN is published two (2) times a year in March and September. Articles containing the results of research on forestry science will be accepted for review as writing


GUIDING PRINCIPLE
An accepted manuscript must meet the following general criteria: the article makes a valuable contribution to science, the methodology used is described in detail, so that other scientists can repeat the experiment. Conclusions are supported by data, a short, well-written and understandable manuscript.

The author is responsible for corrections (typos, spelling, terms, etc.) suggested by the Editorial Board and the manuscript is only published after the author sends back the revised manuscript no later than two (2) weeks before the schedule is published and accepted by the Editorial Board.


MANUSCRIPT FORMAT
Manuscripts are uploaded to the ULIN journal system and adjusted to the standard ULIN format, Title, Author, Address and Email, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, and Bibliography. The length of the writing does not exceed 14 pages of the manuscript with 1.5 spacing including tables and pictures and attachments in A4 paper (210 × 297 mm), in a single column, 11 pt Times New Roman font (except Abstract and Keywords) and numbered line. Margins on all four sides 2 cm.


MANUSCRIPT TITLE AND AUTHOR
Must be brief, informative and indicates the main point(s) of the paper, maximum 20 words. Clearly writtern and briefly explaining the contents of the study.The names of the main author and co-authors (second author, and so on) are written in full (without abbreviations), including the institution / department / institution, the author's address and email address clearly.


ABTRACT AND KEYWORD
Abstract in Indonesian and English. Contains briefly the research background, research objectives, research methods used, and conclusions. Provide a brief explanation of the results or findings. State conclusions or recommendations and relate them to the significance of the study. Abstract not more than 200 words, contains no references / references and is given a key word (five words or phrases arranged alphabetically). Abstracts must be integrated and stand alone, containing an introduction, objectives, results, conclusions, and suggestions.


INTRODUCTION

Contains concise and clear information that contains the background and purpose of the research. Contains the background that underlies the research and mentions previous research that has been carried out, the research objectives, the framework and literature briefly, and the approach used in relation to the problem under study. Librarians use name and year.


MATERIALS AND METHODS
This section describes in detail and clearly but concisely the location and time of the research and the materials used. The method used is written clearly and systematically, including the analysis, treatment, statistical design or research design used.


RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Results and discussion should be written in the same section. Continuously describes the beginning of the main results to support the results and is equipped with a discussion. The unit of measurement used follows the applicable international system. All figures and tables in the manuscript should be active and editable by the editor.


CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

This should state clearly the main conclusions and provide an explanation of the importance and relevance of the study to the field. The conclusion has to be written in a paragraph.

Please acknowledge anyone who contributed towards the article who does not meet the criteria for authorship including anyone who provided professional writing services or materials. Authors should obtain permission to acknowledge from all those mentioned in the Acknowledgements section.


REFERENCES
The required library writing system is writer-year. All references described must be written in bibliography and arranged from oldest to newest year and from A to Z. Articles have references to the last 10 years or less than 10 years, 60% are journals, and all bibliographies are primary sources. Unpublished data and personal communications cannot be cited in the literature, but are given to the text in paragraphs. "In Press" articles that have been accepted for publication can be cited in the bibliography. Includes a citation of the journal where the “in press” article will appear and the time of publication, if time is available.
