Licensing Policy

Terms governing access, sharing, adaptation, and reuse of articles published by Jurnal Agroekoteknologi Tropika Lembab.

Unless otherwise stated, articles published by Jurnal Agroekoteknologi Tropika Lembab (JATL) are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

Open License

JATL provides immediate open access to its published content. The CC BY-SA 4.0 license allows readers and other users to access, download, copy, share, redistribute, translate, adapt, and build upon published articles, including for commercial purposes, provided that all applicable license conditions are followed.

The license applies worldwide and remains effective for the duration of the applicable copyright. The freedoms granted by the license cannot be revoked from users who comply with its terms.

Permitted Uses

Share Users may copy and redistribute an article in any medium or format.
Adapt Users may remix, transform, translate, summarize, or build upon the published material.
Redistribute Articles may be deposited in repositories, websites, educational platforms, and other lawful archives.
Commercial Use Commercial reuse is permitted when the attribution and ShareAlike requirements are satisfied.

License Conditions

Anyone reusing an article published under CC BY-SA 4.0 must comply with the following conditions:

1. Give Appropriate Attribution Credit the author or authors, provide the title of the article and publication details, identify JATL as the original publisher, and include the article DOI or URL whenever available.
2. Provide a License Link Include a link to the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
3. Indicate Changes Clearly state whether the original material has been edited, translated, shortened, transformed, or otherwise modified.
4. Apply ShareAlike If the material is remixed, transformed, or adapted, the resulting contribution must be distributed under CC BY-SA 4.0 or a Creative Commons-compatible license.
5. Do Not Apply Additional Restrictions Users may not impose legal terms or technological measures that prevent others from exercising the rights permitted by the license.

Attribution must not imply that the authors, JATL, the Faculty of Agriculture, or Mulawarman University endorse the user, organization, product, service, or adapted version.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright in their articles and grant JATL the non-exclusive right of first publication. Applying the CC BY-SA 4.0 license does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to the journal or to users of the article.

Author Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit and distribute the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, or published version of their article through institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, or other lawful platforms.

When depositing the published version, authors should include the complete citation, DOI or article URL, identify JATL as the original publisher, and retain the applicable CC BY-SA 4.0 license statement.

Third-Party Material

The CC BY-SA 4.0 license applies only to material for which the authors or journal are legally authorized to grant the license. Figures, photographs, maps, tables, datasets, or other third-party materials may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions.

Any material excluded from the article’s Creative Commons license must be clearly identified through an appropriate credit line. Users are responsible for obtaining permission from the relevant copyright holder when their intended reuse is not permitted by law or by the material’s separate license.

Other Rights and Responsibilities

The license does not automatically grant rights relating to privacy, publicity, confidentiality, trademarks, patents, research ethics, personal data, or moral rights. Users are responsible for determining whether additional permission is required for their intended use.

The CC BY-SA 4.0 license is provided without warranties. JATL does not guarantee that every possible use of an article is free from third-party rights or other legal restrictions.

License Applicable to Each Article

The license statement displayed on each article page and within the published article determines the applicable reuse conditions. Articles published under an earlier agreement or a different license remain subject to the terms stated at the time of publication unless formally amended by the relevant copyright holder.
