Right of First Publication

By submitting a manuscript and agreeing to its publication, the authors grant JATL a non-exclusive right of first publication. This authorization permits the journal to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, preserve, index, and communicate the article in print, electronic, and other scholarly publication formats.

JATL is entitled to identify itself as the original publisher of the article and to maintain the authoritative version of record on the journal website.

Rights Retained by Authors

Because authors retain copyright, they may:

• Reuse all or part of their article in future books, teaching materials, presentations, reports, theses, dissertations, or other scholarly works.
• Deposit the submitted, accepted, or published version of the article in an institutional repository, subject repository, personal website, or other lawful archive.
• Share and distribute copies of the article for educational, research, and professional purposes.
• Translate, adapt, or develop the work further, provided that the original publication in JATL is properly acknowledged.
• Enter into additional non-exclusive agreements for the distribution of the published version, provided that JATL is acknowledged as the place of first publication.

Author Representations and Responsibilities

By submitting an article to JATL, the authors confirm that:

1. The manuscript is an original scholarly work and does not infringe the copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights of any third party.
2. The manuscript has not been published previously in substantially the same form, except where transparent and ethically acceptable disclosure has been provided.
3. The manuscript is not being considered simultaneously by another journal.
4. All individuals listed as authors have approved the submission and the final version accepted for publication.
5. The authors have obtained the necessary written permission to reproduce any copyrighted material that they do not own.
6. The authors have the authority to grant JATL the non-exclusive publication rights and the public license described on this page.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to include figures, photographs, maps, tables, instruments, datasets, extensive quotations, or other materials owned by third parties when such use is not covered by an applicable legal exception.

Material that is not covered by the article’s CC BY-SA 4.0 license must be clearly identified through an appropriate credit line. Users who wish to reuse such material must obtain permission directly from the relevant copyright holder.

Recommended Attribution

Integrity of the Published Record

Reuse or adaptation of an article must not imply that the authors, JATL, the Faculty of Agriculture, or Mulawarman University endorse a particular product, organization, service, interpretation, or modified version.

When an article is corrected, retracted, or otherwise updated, users should consult and cite the most recent version of the publication record available on the JATL website.

Previously Published Articles

The copyright and reuse conditions displayed with each published article determine the applicable terms for that article. Earlier publication agreements remain applicable unless they are formally amended with the consent of the relevant rights holder.

JATL will not retroactively change the copyright or license of previously published material without an appropriate legal basis and authorization from the rights holder.
