Article Publication Charge

Authors whose manuscripts have been formally accepted for publication are required to pay an Article Publication Charge of IDR 400,000 for each accepted article.

The publication charge contributes to the management and production of the published article, including editorial administration, manuscript preparation, layout, digital publication, website maintenance, and long-term availability of journal content.

Editorial Independence

Payment of the publication charge does not influence the peer-review process or the editorial decision. All manuscripts are evaluated based on their originality, scientific quality, methodological soundness, relevance to the journal’s scope, and compliance with publication ethics.

Editors and reviewers make their assessments independently of the authors’ ability or willingness to pay. The publication charge does not guarantee acceptance, accelerated review, or publication in a particular issue.

No Fast-Track Fee

JATL does not charge a fast-track review fee. Authors cannot make a payment to obtain preferential treatment, bypass editorial procedures, influence reviewers, or guarantee an editorial decision within a particular period.

Payment Procedure

1. The manuscript completes editorial evaluation and peer review.
2. The editor issues a formal acceptance decision through the JATL Open Journal System.
3. The journal provides the corresponding author with official payment instructions.
4. The author makes payment using the official payment method communicated by the journal.
5. Proof of payment is submitted to the journal’s official contact.
6. The accepted manuscript proceeds to copyediting, layout, proofreading, and publication.

Responsibility for Payment

The corresponding author is responsible for coordinating payment with the co-authors or their institution. The publication charge may be paid by an author, research grant, institution, sponsor, or other authorized funding source.

Payment by an institution or funding body does not give that party authority to influence the journal’s editorial decision or the scientific content of the article.

Changes to Publication Charges

JATL may review the publication charge periodically. Any change will be announced transparently on this page. The applicable charge is the amount communicated to the author in connection with the formal acceptance of the manuscript.

Authors will not be charged retroactively for changes introduced after payment has been completed.
