Preferensi Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) pada Beberapa sumber Pakan

Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith adalah hama utama pada tanaman jagung dan bahkan lebih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tanaman inang yang paling disukai oleh larva S. frugiperda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAK), dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, perlakuan yang digunakan adalah jagung, beras, braciaria, kedelai dan kacang tanah, S. frugiperda yang digunakan berasal dari tanaman jagung. Bersadarkan hasil penelitian Serangga S. frugiperda yang diberi diet tanaman padi menunjukkan periode terpendek mencapai dewasa (ngengat) sedangkan yang diberi diet kedelai siklus perkembangan serangga S. frugiperda lebih lama dan berat kepompong lebih rendah. Preferensi terhadap pakan tidak berbeda pada 3 spesies tanaman jagung, padi dan braciaria dan merupakan inang yang lebih disukai. Pemeliharaan mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan serangga S. frugiperda. S. frugiperda merupakan serangga polipag, dalam uji tanaman jagung, padi dan tanaman rumput baciaria lebih tinggi dikonsumsi dibandingkan kedelai dan kacang tanahReferences
