Analisis Karbon Organik dan Sifat Tanah di Lahan Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit Desa Talang Pauh Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah Provinsi Bengkulu
Abstract
Konversi lahan dari hutan menjadi areal perkebunan kelapa sawit dapat menurunkan kandungan karbon organik tanah. Hutan merupakan ekosistem kompleks dan memiliki keanekaragaman hayati sehingga memiliki kapasitas penyimpanan karbon organik yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan perkebunan monokultur sawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan karbon organik dan sifat-sifat tanah pada lahan perkebunan kelapa sawit di Desa Talang Pauh Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan pada kedalaman 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm, dan 20-30 cm. Sampel tanah yang diambil pada setiap kedalaman di uji kandungan karbon organiknya, pH, bulk density, kadar air kapasitas lapang, dan tekstur tanah (persentase pasir, liat, dan debu). Analisis statistik yang digunakan, yaitu analisis ANOVA, LSD, regresi, dan korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan cadangan karbon organik pada kedalaman 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm, dan 20-30 cm berturut-turut sebesar 46.78 ± 10.01 Mg ha-1; 34.90 ± 5.87 Mg ha-1; dan 35,40 ± 3.26 Mg ha-1. Selain itu, fraksi pasir, liat dan debu memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan karbon organik tanah. Lahan perkebunan kelapa sawit di wilayah Sumatera memiliki rata-rata cadangan karbon organik tanah yang relatif sama walaupun aktivitas penggunaan lahan menjadi areal perkebunan dapat menurunkan cadangan karbon organik.
