Potensi Cadangan Karbon di Lembo Durian dan Hutan Sekunder Berbeda Umur di Kampung Intu Lingau Kecamatan Nyuatan Kabupaten Kutai Barat Kalimantan Timur

Abstract


Kebudayaan yang melekat pada masyarakat Dayak Benuaq dan salah satunya yang tinggal di Kampung Intu Lingau yaitu kebiasaan membangun lembo (kebun buah) di sekitar pemukiman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengestimasi potensi biomassa, cadangan dan serapan karbon, serta produksi oksigen di lembo durian dan hutan sekunder berbeda umur di Kampung Intu Lingau, Kecamatan Nyuatan, Kabupaten Kutai Barat, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Tiga plot penelitian berukuran 20 m × 20 m dibuat pada empat lokasi yaitu lembo durian muda, lembo durian tua, hutan sekunder muda, dan hutan sekunder tua. Biomassa dan cadangan karbon di lembo durian muda (114,07 dan 53,62 ton/ha) dan lembo durian tua (151,44 dan 71,18 ton/ha) lebih besar dibandingkan hutan sekunder muda (79,14 dan 37,19 ton/ha) dan hutan sekunder tua (113,41 dan 53,31 ton/ha). Potensi serapan karbondioksida masing-masing sebesar 112,6 ; 196,61 ; 85,43 dan 195,47 ton/ha di lembo durian muda, lembo durian tua, hutan sekunder muda, dan hutan sekunder tua. Lembo durian tua dan hutan sekunder tua memproduksi oksigen lebih besar (33%) dibandingkan lembo durian muda (19%) dan hutan sekunder muda (15%). Informasi tentang cadangan karbon dan serapan oksigen di lembo durian dan hutan sekunder dapat digunakan dalam perhitungan perdagangan karbon dan pengelolaan lahan berhutan pada umumnya.
