KINERJA MULTIPLE TRAY AERATOR DALAM PENINGKATAN PH DAN PENURUNAN KADAR BESI (Fe) PADA SURFACE WATER

Konsentrasi besi (Fe) yang tinggi pada air tadah hujan yang lazim dimanfaatkan masyarakat Desa Sukamaju untuk keperluan aerasi pertanian berpotensi menimbulkan dampak merugikan terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan kinerja Multiple Tray Aerator dalam menurunkan kadar besi (Fe) dan turbiditas udara. Tahapan pengolahan diawali dengan proses aerasi, yaitu pengontakan udara dengan udara untuk mengoksidasi ion Fe terlarut menjadi bentuk yang tidak larut. Selanjutnya, udara dialirkan melalui proses filtrasi menggunakan media spons, batu kerikil, dan arang untuk menahan partikel hasil oksidasi serta menyisihkan kotoran tersuspensi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan peningkatan pH dari 4 menjadi 6 dengan efisiensi sebesar 33,33%, penurunan kadar Fe dari 2,18 mg/L menjadi 0,54 mg/L dengan efisiensi 37,17%, serta penurunan turbiditas dari 1,068 MTU menjadi 0,352 MTU dengan efisiensi 67,04%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa multiple tray aerator merupakan teknologi sederhana yang relatif mudah diterapkan, namun tetap efektif dalam memperbaiki kualitas udara untuk kebutuhan pertanian, terutama dalam menurunkan kadar besi (Fe) dan turbiditas secara berkelanjutan.
