Annick’s anxiety and defense mechanisms in Trees of Peace (2022)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakter Annick dalam film Trees of Peace (2022), yang berdasarkan peristiwa nyata genosida Rwanda, dengan menggunakan teori psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud, khususnya konsep kecemasan dan mekanisme pertahanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Annick mengalami tiga jenis kecemasan, yaitu kecemasan realistis, kecemasan neurotic, dan kecemasan moral. Untuk menghadapi kecemasan psikologisnya, Annick secara tidak sadar menggunakan berbagai mekanisme pertahanan seperti penyangkalan, represi, proyeksi, regresi, rasionalisasi, pemindahan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa Annick tidak menggunakan mekanisme pertahanan seperti sublimasi dan reaksi formasi, yang menunjukkan bahwa ia lebih mengandalkan pertahanan yang bersifat emosional dan spontan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bagaimana respon psikologis manusia terbentuk dalam situasi traumatis ekstrim. Penelitian ini juga menampilakan karakterisasi melalui dialog dan tindakan internal, yang menggambarkan kondisi emosional tokoh secara mendalam.References
