PRA PERANCANGAN FLASH TANK HHP BOILER POWER PLANT II (STUDI KASUS PT.PERTAMINA RU V BALIKPAPAN)

Energi adalah salah satu komponen yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap profit suatu kilang. Mengingat besarnya biaya energi, maka perlu adanya pengelolaan energi. Diharapkan energi dapat dimanfaatkan secara efisien, sehingga akan menurunkan biaya energi dan menaikkan profit kilang. Salah satu pengelolaan energi sebagai konservasi energi yaitu memanfaatkan energi vapor (uap) yang dikandung oleh continuous blowdown yang dipisahkan oleh suatu alat yaitu berupa flash tank yang bertekanan 3,5 bar. Vapor (uap) yang terbentuk nantinya sebagai heat input HHP Boiler terutama sebagai pemanas deaerator. Flash tank yang ada selama ini hanya bersifat individu dan vapor (uap) yang dihasilkan langsung dibuang ke udara bebas. Dalam perancangan flash tank, jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah data teknik dan ekonomi. Dari hasil basis perhitungan untuk continuous blowdown sebagai feed 6,124 lb/sec, diperoleh jumlah massa vapor (uap) 1,719 lb/sec, sehingga tinggi flash tank 5,38 ft (1,64 m), diameter dalam 2,69 ft (0,82 m) dan berdasarkan standar ASME dan API-ASME dan Materialnya adalah ASTM A 516 Gr.70, maka diperoleh ketebalan dinding 0,25 inc, serta dari keekonomian, dengan adanya flash tank dapat menghemat energi sebesar 7.297.979,325 Btu/jam atau setara $ 8.193,210/tahun dan dari evaluasi ekonomi berdasarkan NPV,IRR, PBP, IP dan BEP yang mana flash tank dinilai layak untuk dibangun.
