DAUR ULANG MINYAK PELUMAS BEKAS DENGAN METODE PENAMBAHAN ASAM SULFAT, KARBON AKTIF DAN CLAY

Seiring dengan berkembangnya revolusi industri, banyak kegiatan sehari-hari yang tak lepas dari pengunaan mesin. Dimana permintaan kendaraan bermotor meningkat, hal ini berbanding lurus dengan limbah pelumas yang dihasilkan. Minyak pelumas bekas merupakan minyak yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan yang mengalami berbagai macam gesekan dan tercampur dengan kotoran dari komponen mesin, sisa pembakaran maupun debu. Pelumas bekas yang berbahaya bagi lingkungan ini dapat dimanfaatkan atau dijernihkan kembali dengan metode penjerapan untuk menghilangkan zat pengotor dalam minyak pelumas bekas. Daur ulang oli bekas dilakukan dengan penambahan asam sulfat (Acid Treatment) untuk menghilangkan logam-logam berat pengotor dalam minyak pelumas bekas, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan tahap carbon and clay treatment untuk menghilangkan kandungan anion dan kation logam yang menyebabkan minyak pelumas bekas menjadi keruh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai sifat fisika minyak pelumas daur ulang dari variasi proses tersebut. Dari percobaan dengan variasi asam dan penjerapan diperoleh nilai sifat fisika minyak terbaik ada pada A100H43, yakni pada penambahan asam sulfat 100 ml serta pada hari ke-43 dengan nilai viskositas 9,8847 cP, densitas 0,9090 g/ml, dengan warna minyak coklat terang/jernih. Variasi percobaan A100H43 memiliki nilai viskositas yang mendekati dengan standar SAE J300 25W.

Regarding royalties, so far, if it is following applicable legal regulations, the author will waive his right to collect royalties on articles that have been licensed by JURNAL CHEMURGY.
