PENGARUH KONSENTRASI HCl TERHADAP SINTESIS KOAGULAN FERI KLORIDA SEBAGAI UPAYA PENANGGULANGAN LIMBAH LOGAM Fe PASCA REGENERASI PROSES ADSORPSI

Ion besi yang larut di dalam air dengan konsentrasi melebihi standar lingkungan, apabila dikonsumsi, akan terakumulasi menjadi racun yang berbahaya. Adsorpsi merupakan salah satu metode pengolahan yang sering kali digunakan untuk mengurangi jumlah besi terlarut, namun proses regenerasi adsorben menyisakan produk samping berupa Fe terlarut yang dapat berbahaya bila dibuang kembali ke lingkungan. Salah satu alternatif untuk mengolah hasil regenerasi Fe terlarut ini adalah mengoksidasi serta mensintesisnya dengan HCl menjadi koagulan feri klorida (koagulan FeCl3). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi HCl dan menentukan kondisi optimum sehingga dapat menghasilkan produk berupa koagulan FeCl3. Larutan simulasi dibuat dari padatan FeSO4.7H2O sebanyak 50 g, kemudian dilarutkan dengan aquadest. Setelah itu, ditambahkan NaOH 1 N sebanyak 80 ml hingga larutan berubah warna. Larutan akan dipanaskan selama 2 jam, kemudian ditambahkan HCl sebanyak 15 ml dengan variasi konsentrasi 28%, 30%, 32%, 34% dan 36%. Sampel akan dianalisis dengan Spektrofotometer Uv-Visible. Kondisi terbaik diperoleh pada variasi penambahan HCl 32% dengan konsentrasi maksimum koagulan sebesar 143,426 ppm.
