The Relationship Between Mother’s Characteristics and the Development of Preschool-Aged Children at Cakrawala Kaki Langit and Kebun Kita Early Childhood Education Centers in Samarinda

Perkembangan anak merupakan periode awal bertambahnya struktur dan fungsi tubuh menjadi lebih kompleks, yang meliputi kemampuan motorik halus, motorik kasar, berbicara, bahasa, serta sosialisasi dan kemandirian, berupa proses aktif dan unik bagi setiap anak yang terjadi secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara karakteristik ibu dan perkembangan anak usia pra sekolah. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. sampel sebanyak 57 orang, menggunakan proportional stratified random sampling dari populasi PAUD Cakrawala langit 34 orang dan dari PAUD Kebun kita 99 orang. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah Kuesioner karakteristik dan Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP). Variabel independen adalah Karakteristik Ibu, sedangkan variabel dependen adalah Perkembangan anak usia PAUD yang diukur dengan kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP). Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden Anak, merupakan Anak Perempuan 35 responden ( 61,40 ) dan berusia 5 tahun sebanyak 23 responden (40,35%), dan mayoritas responden Ibu berusia 26- 35 sebanyak 36 responden (63,16%), Pendidikan SMA/ sederajat sebanyak 22 responden (38.60%), Pekerjaan Ibu rumah tangga 37 orang (64.91%) dan Mayoritas perkembangan anak yang sesuai (S) 48 responden (84,21) . Hasil uji statistik Hubungan karakteristik anak dengan perkembangan diperoleh nilai p value = 0,004 (α < 0,05) dan hubungan karakteristik Ibu dengan perkembangan anak diperoleh nilai nilai p value = 0,0043 (α < 0,05), yang menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara Karakteristik Anak dan Ibu dengan Perkembangan Anak. Disimpulkan bahwa Karakteristik usia dan jenis kelamin dan karakteristik Ibu usia, pendidikan dan pekerjaan berhubungan dengan perkembangan anak usia PAUD.

Abstract
Child development is the early period during which the body’s structure and functions become more complex, encompassing fine motor skills, gross motor skills, speech, language, as well as socialization and independence—an active and unique process for each child that occurs continuously. This study aims to analyze the relationship between maternal characteristics and the development of preschool-aged children. The research design used was a quantitative observational-analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 57 participants, selected using proportional stratified random sampling: 34 from the Cakrawala Langit Early Childhood Education Center and 99 from the Kebun Kita Early Childhood Education Center. The research instruments were a Maternal Characteristics Questionnaire and a Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire (KPSP). The independent variable was maternal characteristics, while the dependent variable was the development of preschool-aged children, measured using the Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire (KPSP). Data analysis employed the chi-square test. The results showed that the majority of child respondents were girls, totaling 35 respondents (61.40%), and 23 respondents (40.35%) were 5 years old. The majority of mother respondents were aged 26–35, totaling 36 respondents (63.16%), with 22 respondents (38.60%) having a high school or equivalent education, 37 respondents (64.91%) being homemakers, and the majority of children showing appropriate development (S), totaling 48 respondents (84.21%).
