Work Family Konflik Pada Pekerja Wanita di Era Modern

Abstract


Modern times come with many changes in human life. Changes that really apparent are changes in human roles, changes in our social, working, and educational roles. Now we can see so many women in working forces with married status. Therefore, we need research about how these women can divide their role as an employee and their role as a housewife with their responsibilities in domestic area. The method we used in this research is descriptive research, and we used work-family conflict scale created by Greenhouse and developed by Carlson, et al as a measurement tool. In discussion section we will see how many working women with have married status that feel conflicted about their roles, how it related to work-family conflict construct, and how it related to other variables. The result from this research is the amount work-family conflict in woman employee that already married in Bandung is considerably low, but we can see that although work-family conflict does not have strong relationship with subjective¬ well-being, work-family conflict has an important role in dictating work satisfaction in woman with married status.

Zaman modern telah menghadirkan berbagai perubahan dalam kehidupan manusia. Perubahan yang sangat jelas terlihat adalah perubahan peran manusia dalam lingkup sosial, pekerjaan, dan pendidikan. Kita dapat melihat bahwa ada perubahan besar-besaran yang terjadi dalam jumlah pegawai wanita dengan status menikah. Sehingga dibutuhkannya penelitian mengenai bagaimana para wanita tersebut membagi peran antara peran sebagai karyawan dan peran sebagai ibu rumah tangga yang bertanggung jawab dalam ranah domestik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dan menggunakan alat ukur work-family conflict scale yang dirancang oleh Greenhaus dan dikembangkan oleh Carlson, dkk. Dalam pembahasannya kita akan melihat seberapa banyak karyawan wanita dengan status menikah yang merasa mengalami konflik dan bagaimana kaitannya dengan work-family conflict dengan beberapa variable lainnya, pembahasan ini akan dilakukan dengan melakukan review terhadap beberapa penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat work-family conflict pada karyawan wanita dengan status menikah di Bandung cenderung rendah. Walaupun work-family conflict tidak berpengaruh terhadap subjective well-being seseorang, tetapi kita dapat melihat bahwa work-family conflict memiliki peranan penting terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan wanita dengan status menikah.
