Pengaruh Kesepian Terhadap Agresivitas Verbal di Media Sosial Pada Mahasiswa Universitas Mulawarman

Abstract


The advancement of technologies and the internet not only bring positive impacts but also the negative ones. The emergence of an attitude of aggression in cyberspace in a form of making posts with negative conotation is one form of this negative impact. This attitude is driven by several things, one of which is the level of loneliness felt by individuals. This study aims to determine the effect of loneliness towards verbal aggression in Mulawarman University students. The subjects of this study were 150 students of Mulawarman University who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this study are using verbal aggression scale and loneliness scale and then analyzed using the Kendall tau analysis resulting in the value of r = 0.642 and p = 0.000 < 0.05. These results indicate that there is an influence between loneliness towards verbal aggression on social media in Mulawarman University students.

Perkembangan teknologi dan internet tidak hanya membawa dampak positif namun juga membawa dampak negatif. Munculnya sikap agresi di dunia maya seperti melakukan unggahan dengan konotasi negatif merupakan salah satu bentuk dampak negatif tersebut. Sikap ini didorong adanya beberapa hal, salah satunya ialah tingkat kesepian individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kesepian terhadap agresivitas verbal pada Mahasiswa Universitas Mulawarman. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 150 mahasiswa Universitas Mulawarman yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah skala agresivitas verbal dan skala kesepian kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Kendall tau menghasilkan nilai r hitung = 0.642 dan p=0.000 < 0.05. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara kesepian terhadap agresivitas verbal di media sosial pada mahasiswa Universitas Mulawarman.
