Alienasi Pemuda dalam Politik: Peran Nilai dan Kepercayaan Politik Pada Partisipasi Politik Pemilih Pemula
Abstract
Youth’s awareness of the social phenomenon in society makes their political perspective as important as a matter of concern in each upcoming campaign period. Their values and judgments tend to lead them into certain actions or attitudes while participating in terms of politics. In order to understand this matter, this study is aimed to examine the correlation between personal values, political trust, and young voter's political participation. The research has been conducted through a quantitative approach using a political participation scale, personal value scale, and political trust scale. Researcher used accidental sampling technique to retrieve 102 young voters who have been legally registered due to regional law as a sample of respondents. Then, the obtained data were analyzed using Somer's Delta test. The result of Somers’d analysis have been shown that there is a correlation between personal values and political participation (r = 0,399 and p = 0,000; p < 0,05) and there is a correlation between political trust and political participation (r = 0,180 and p = 0,047; p < 0,05).
esadaran pemuda yang tinggi terhadap fenomena sosial yang sedang terjadi di masyarakat membuat pandangan mereka terhadap politik menjadi hal yang turut diperhatikan di setiap periode kampanye mendatang. Nilai-nilai dan penilaian mereka cenderung mengarahkan kepada tindakan atau sikap tertentu dalam partisipasi politik. Sehingga, untuk memahami fenomena tersebut akan diteliti hubungan antara nilai personal dan kepercayaan politik dengan partisipasi politik pemilih pemula di kota Samarinda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap derajat keeratan hubungan antara nilai personal dan kepercayaan politik dengan partisipasi politik. Penelitian dilakukan melalui pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan skala partisipasi politik, skala nilai personal, dan skala kepercayaan politik. Penelitian menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dalam metode penarikan sampel. Kemudian, data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji Somer’s Delta. Sampel penelitian adalah 102 orang pemilih pemula yang telah terdaftar sebagai pemilih tetap di kota Samarinda. Hasil analisis uji Somers’d menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara nilai personal dengan partisipasi politik yaitu diperoleh nilai r = 0,399 dan p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Kemudian, ada hubungan antara kepercayaan politik dengan partisipasi politik yaitu diperoleh nilai r = 0,180 dan p = 0,047 (p < 0,05).
