Current Safety Behavior: Is it Influenced by Knowledge, Climate, and Stres?
Abstract
Creating a safe and healthy work environment requires a company's commitment to prioritising workplace safety. This study aims to determine whether safety knowledge, safety climate, and work stress influence safety behaviour. The research method used is convenient sampling. The study involved 243 workers employed in Karawang Regency. The research instruments used were the Safety Behaviour Scale developed by Neal and Griffin, Safety Knowledge developed by Vinodkumar and Bhasi, Safety Climate measured using the LSCAT developed by Cox and Cheyne, and Work Stress measured using the PSS-10 developed by Cohen (1983). The study was analysed through a series of reliability tests, normality tests, determination tests, multiple regression tests, and simple regression tests. The results showed that safety knowledge, safety climate, and work stress significantly influence safety behaviour, contributing 33,2%. Regression analysis revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the regression model is statistically significant. It can be concluded from this study that safety knowledge, safety climate, and work stress effectively have a positive influence on safety behaviour.
Menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang aman dan sehat membutuhkan komitmen perusahaan dalam mempriotitaskan keselamatan kerja. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui peran safety knowledge, safety climate dan work stress apakah memiliki pengaruh terhadap safety behavior. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan convenient sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 243 pekerja yang bekerja di Kabupaten Karawang. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan Safety Behavior Scale yang disusun oleh Neal dan Griffin, Safety Knowledge yang disusun oleh Vinodkumar dan Bhasi, Safety Climate diukur menggunakan (LSCAT) yang disusun oleh Cox dan Cheyne, Work Stress diukur menggunakan (PSS-10) yang dikembangkan oleh Cohen (1983). Penelitian ini dianalisis melalui serangkaian uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji determinasi, uji regresi berganda dan sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa safety knowledge, safety climate, dan work stress berpengaruh signifikan terhadap safety behavior dengan kontribusi sebesar 33,2%. Analisis regresi menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05) yang menunjukkan bahwa model regresi signifikan secara statistik. Dapat disimpulkan penelitian ini bahwa safety knowledge, safety climate, dan work stress, secara efektif berpengaruh positif terhadap safety behavior.
