Aplikasi Dosis Vermikompos dan Fungi Mikoriza Arbuskula (FMA) terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea mays L. Saccharata Sturt)

Abstract


This study aimed to determine the effect of vermicompost dosage and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) as well as their interaction on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays L. saccharata Sturt). The research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Samudra, Langsa City, Aceh Province, from April to August 2025. The experiment used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was vermicompost dosage consisting of four levels: V0 (0 kg/plot), V1 (0.715 kg/plot), V2 (1.485 kg/plot), and V3 (2.255 kg/plot). The second factor was mycorrhiza dosage consisting of four levels: M0 (0 g/plant), M1 (20 g/plant), M2 (30 g/plant), and M3 (40 g/plant). A total of 16 treatment combinations were replicated three times, resulting in 48 experimental units. The observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, ear weight with husk, ear weight without husk, ear diameter with husk, ear diameter without husk, and root length. The results showed that vermicompost dosage had a highly significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter at 15 and 30 days after planting (DAP), ear weight with husk, and ear weight without husk, with the best treatment at V2 (1.485 kg/plot). The application of mycorrhiza showed a highly significant effect on root length but had no significant effect on other growth and yield parameters. The interaction between vermicompost and mycorrhiza showed a highly significant effect on plant height at 30 DAP and stem diameter at 45 DAP, and a significant effect on several yield parameters. The best treatment combination was V2M3 (1.485 kg/plot vermicompost and 40 g/plant mycorrhiza), which produced the highest growth and yield of sweet corn.
