ANALISIS GLOBAL VALUE CHAINS TERHADAP BAND SLANK GO INTERNATIONAL
Abstract
Global Value Chains as a key concept in the study of International Political Economy has been well established and widely used to analyze how goods and services value are added in a global scale. This article will use Global Value Chains concept to see how one of Indonesian legendary music band, Slank, tried to “add” more values to their songs through translations in English and then marketed in the United States of America. The country is choosen because USA is regarded as a center of music in the world as well as significant diplomatic actors. With their song translated in English, it can be intrepeted as an effort to “add values” from Slank because the translation widen the market and consumers of Slank.
