Metode Fonik Dan Proximal Self Motivation untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca

Abstract


Kemampuan membaca merupakan kemampuan utama yang dibutuhkan siswa agar mampu memahami semua pelajaran di sekolah. Khususnya bagi anak Sekolah Dasar (SD) yang menggunakan buku pelajaran tematik. Kemampuan membaca yang rendah pada anak SD disebabkan karena kurangnya motivasi intrinsik pada kegiatan membaca. Intervensi metode fonik digabung dengan proximal self motivation, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan motivasi intrinsik anak untuk membaca. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode single case experimental design dengan perlakuan berupa penerapan intervensi metode fonik dan proximal self motivation pada satu orang anak laki-laki kelas 3 SD dengan kemampuan membaca berada pada level fonik (identifikasi huruf). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah pemberian intervensi sebanyak 11 sesi, subjek mengalami peningkatan kemampuan membaca gabungan suku kata (KVKV) disertai dengan motivasi intrinsik pada kegiatan membaca yang dapat diukur melalui peningkatan nilai yang diberikan pada kemampuannya dan peningkatan waktu yang digunakan selama pilihan bebas
