Evaluasi Kesesuaian Lahan Tanaman Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) di Kampung Tanjung Perangat Kecamatan Sambaliung Kabupaten Berau

Pertumbuhan penduduk di Indonesia yang terus meningkat hingga membuat kebutuhan terhadap pangan turut meningkat. Demimemenuhi kebutuhan penduduk Indonesia maka perlu dilakukan peningkatan produktivitas salah satunya dengan cara ekstensifikasi
(perluasan lahan). Kegiatan ekstensifikasi dapat terlaksana dengan baik berdasarkan evaluasi kesesuaian lahan. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan
merupakan kegiatan yang bertujuan mengetahui sesuai atau tidak sesuai suatu tanaman pada lahan yang akan dikembangkan. Salah satu
tempat yang dilakukan evaluasi kesesuaian lahan berada di Kampung Tanjung Perangat Kecamatan Sambaliung Kabupaten Berau untuk
tanaman bawang merah. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sesuai atau tidak lahan yang ada di kampung tersebut untuk ditanamani
bawang merah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Sistem Informasi Geografi dan Kartografi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas
Mulawarman. Kegiatan Penelitian dilakukan selama lima bulan dari bulan Agustus sampai bulan Desember tahun 2019.
Penelitian ini, dalam pengolahan data serta perhitungan kesesuaian lahan menggunakan metode matching dan metode parametrik. Peneliti
menentukan tiga lahan atau tiga area sebagai tempat penelitian di Kampung Tanjung Perangat. Selain itu dibutuhkan data iklim untuk
mendukung kegiatan evaluasi kesesuaian lahan yang didapatkan dari Stasiun Klimatologi Kalimarau Berau.
Hasil penelitian dari hasil pengolahan serta perhitungan data dengan menggunakan metode matching dan metode parametrik
menunjukkan bahwa kondisi kelas kesesuaian lahan yang ada di Kampung Tanjung Perangat adalah tidak sesuai (N) secara aktual dan
sesuai marginal (S3) untuk lahan potensial.
