WEB SERVICE UNTUK WEB PROFIL SMP NEGERI 2 RANTEPAO TORAJA UTARA

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat web service untuk website profil SMP N 2 Rantepao Toraja Utara agar sekolah tersebut dapat memanfaatkan website tak hanya menjadi media informasi saja, namun juga dapat dimanfaatkan ke dalam bidang lainnya salah satunya yaitu menghubungkan website profil ke dalam E-learning. Cara terbaik dalam menghubungkan sebuah website yang memiliki perbedaan dalam data field record di database adalah website utama yang memiliki seluruh database menyediakan web service. Kemudian website lain yang ingin melakukan pengembangan website tak perlu lagi membuat database hanya perlu mengakses database yang telah disediakan oleh web service tersebut. Web service merupakan media penjembatan antar website dengan mengirimkan informasi sederhana berbentuk XML, dengan bahasa yang sederhana tersebut maka dapat dibaca oleh berbagai macam sistem operasi atau mesin yang berbeda. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis membuat website profil menggunakan PHP sebagai program coding, MySql sebagai penympanan basis data dan metode waterfall sebagai pengembangan sistem. Kemudian dengan adanya web service sebagai penjembatan sebagai media penghubung untuk penggunaan yang lebih baik, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem ini sudah siap dikembangkan. Hasil peneliatan ini adalah tak hanya sebagai penyedia informasi, website sekolah juga dapat dikembangkan menjadi sebuah media pembelajaran melalui internet atau E-learning. Menghubungkan dua website yang berbeda akan menjadi lebih efesien apabila website induk memiliki web service  sebagai media penghubung antar website.
