Fakultas Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi(FKTI) Universitas Mulawarman memiliki Rencana Kegiatan Anggaran (RKA) dengan sumber dana dari pemerintah yaitu dana Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak (PNBP) dan Bantuan Operasional Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (BOPTN). Penyusunan RKA di FKTI masih menggunakan sistem yang sangat manual
dengan cara, pengguna harus melapor terdahulu dan bagian keuangan menginput data menggunakan aplikasi Ms. Excel. Dengan permasalahan ini, penulis melakukan analisa untuk memecahkan permasalahan yang terjadi menggunakan metode
waterfall untuk merancang sistem “Monitoring Rencana Kerja Anggaran dan Serapan Penggunaan Dana Institusi” berbasis website yang dapat digunakan bagian keuangan FKTI dengan membandingkan data rencana dan realisasi kegiatan anggaran FKTI. Bagian keuangan FKTI dapat mengakses sistem pada website, melakukan input data anggaran dan output dalam bentuk file Excel dan monitoring data anggaran serta dapat direkapitulasi secara otomatis oleh sistem ke dalam bentuk grafik. Sistem ini juga dapat dengan mudah memilih grafik yang dapat dilihat berdasarkan tahun yang terbagi 3 macam bentuk grafik yaitu grafik pertahun, periode dan tahun ke tahun. Dengan begitu proses pengawasan rekapitulasi laporan dapat diproses oleh sistem dengan kualitas pengolahan yang baik, mengurangi tingkat kesalahan, hemat waktu dan, serta membantu kinerja penyusunan anggaran bagian keuangan FKTI menjadi lebih.
