Abstract

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a chronic disorder that harms individuals psychologically and physically. 38% of PTSD onset in girls occurs in childhood before the age of 12 years, most of them develop PTSD symptoms after experiencing domestic violence and/or sexual violence. This article aims to describe PTSD’s case in TR, adult, women, aged 21 years, by interviews, observations, and psychological tests i.e graphic test (DAP, BAUM & HTP), The Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Sacks Sentence Completion Test (SSCT), and informal test. The result showed that PTSD criteria on TR met the criteria based on the DSM-5. Childhood maltreatment occurs during parenting from the mother, as well as the experience of sexual violence by her brother, develop negative self-worth and insecurity that impact self-appreciation. TR’s condition develops the discrepancy between ideal self and real self, that impact on TR’s daily functions.
