Adolescents from families with divorced parents are vulnerable to loneliness, which can lead to a decline in psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze the effect of loneliness on psychological well-being and to examine the role of self-compassion as a moderator among adolescents from broken homes. This study employs a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design. The study sample consisted of 213 adolescents aged 12–19 years from broken homes, selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included the De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale (DJGLS), the Psychological Well-being Scale, and the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS). Data analysis was conducted using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the assistance of the Hayes Model 1 Process Macro in SPSS version 25. The results showed that loneliness has a significant negative effect on psychological well-being. Self-compassion was found to moderate the effect of loneliness on psychological well-being. Self-compassion mitigates the impact of loneliness on the psychological well-being of adolescents from broken homes. Thus, self-compassion acts as a moderator that helps adolescents from broken homes maintain their psychological well-being despite experiencing feelings of loneliness.
