Abstract

Adjustment is a process of dealing with stress, tension, and conflict so that there is a balance between the needs and conditions of the environment. The maturity factor, especially emotional maturity is one that affects adjustment. In addition, the ability of resilience is also needed to adjust to new conditions or situations so as not to cause stress, sadness, and even depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience and emotional maturity in the adjustment of blind adolescents. The population of this study was blind adolescents in the Sahabat Mata Semarang community with a sample used as many as 30 blind adolescents aged 12 to 17 years. The results of the study obtained emotional maturity, and resilience with self-adjustment has an R-value of 0.755 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.01) which means that there is a significant relationship between emotional maturity and resilience with adjustment. The value of the coefficient of determination of 0.571 shows the percentage of contribution of emotional maturity and resilience to the adjustment of blind adolescents, which is 57.1%, while the remaining 42.9% is the influence of other factors. The results of the partial correlation test showed that between emotional maturity and self-adjustment had a partial value of 0.645 with a Sig. value of 0.000 (p < 0.01); and between resilience and self-adjustment has a partial value of 0.708 with a Sig. value of 0.000 (p < 0.01) which means that between the two correlations has a very significant relationship. The partial correlation value obtained shows that there is a strong correlation between the independent variable (emotional maturity, and resilience) and the dependent variable (adjustment).
