Hubungan Merokok dengan Kejadian Stomatitis Aftosa Rekuren pada Mahasiswa di Fakultas Kesehatan Universitas Mulawarman

Abstract

Stomatitis aftosa rekuren (SAR) adalah penyakit yang ditandai dengan adanya ulser di mukosa rongga mulut yang rekuren (berulang) terbatas pada mukosa mulut pasien tanpa adanya gangguan sistemik lain. SAR biasanya bermanifestasi untuk pertama kali di masa kanak-kanak atau remaja. Etiologi yang tepat dari SAR masih tidak jelas tetapi diyakini bahwa ada beberapa faktor yang mungkin terlibat dalam perkembangannya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan merokok dengan kejadian stomatitis aftosa rekuren (SAR) pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kesehatan Universitas Mulawarman. 

Penelitian ini merupakan studi cross-sectional dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling dan total sampel sebanyak 96 mahasiswa di Fakultas Kesehatan Universitas Mulawarman. Analisis data menggunakan analisis univariat dan bivariat dengan menggunakan pengujian statistik chi-square. 

Hasil penelitian uji chi-square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kebiasaan merokok dengan kejadian SAR. Mahasiswa yang merokok cenderung mengalami SAR 2,056 atau 2 kali lipat dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa yang tidak merokok.

Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara merokok dengan kejadian stomatitis aftosa rekuren pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kesehatan Universitas Mulawarman.
