PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA CHATTING ONLINE DENGAN FITUR ALIH BAHASA MELALUI PENDEKATAN METODE RULE BASED DALAM PROSES PENERJEMAHAN CHAT

Abstract

Komunikasi informasi merupakan trend yang dapat memperlancar media komunikasi yang statis. Salah satu aplikasi yang menggunakan akses komunikasi informasi berupa teks secara real time yaitu chatting online. Dengan aplikasi chatting tersebut user dapat berinteraksi dengan user lain menggunakan resource yang sangat hemat. Kendala yang masih sering dihadapi oleh pengguna chat saat ini adalah obrolan lintas bahasa dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa penghubung. Tidak semua pengguna aplikasi chatting online bisa berkomunikasi dengan bahasa asing. Selain itu, semakin meningkatnya kebutuhan akan pengetahuan berbahasa Inggris dalam bentuk pengolah bahasa menjadikan pemikiran adanya satu aplikasi berbasis web yang mampu menaungi kebutuhan komunikasi lintas bahasa dengan bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris dalam bentuk aplikasi chatting online dengan fitur alih bahasa chat, electronic dictionary serta penerjemah teks . Penelitian ini difokuskan pada pengembangan suatu algoritma sederhana untuk proses penerjemahan kedua bahasa (Indonesia-Inggris dan Inggris-Indonesia) melalui pendekatan metode rule based. Adapun berbasis web menjadi pilihan yang mempermudah proses chatting online dan menerapkan algoritma tersebut dalam sebuah fitur alih bahasa chat dan penerjemah kalimat dwi bahasa (Indonesia–Inggris & Inggris–Indonesia) selain itu juga terdapat fitur electronic dictionary yang dapat digunakan untuk mencari arti dari kosakata dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris. Pendekatan metode rule based diterapkan melalui pengenalan jenis kata, penentuan pola kata serta menerapkan aturan MD dan DM sesuai tata bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris. Pengujian pada sistem ini dilakukan dengan cara menginputkan kalimat atau kata yang akan diterjemahkan dan melalui pendekatan metode rule based akan menampilkan hasil terjemahan pada alih bahasa chat maupun penerjemah teks. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dengan 100 sampel kalimat dalam bahasa Indonesia maupun Inggris diperoleh persentase keberhasilan penerjemahan sebesar 92% dengan syarat memberi tanda hubung (-) untuk frasa dari beberapa kata yang membentuk arti tunggal, menambah keterangan terutama untuk kata ganti maupun to+be, dan belum mengenal tanda baca pada kata. Selain itu dilakukan pula pengujian pada electronic dictionary dalam menampilkan arti dari kosakata yang dicari serta penerjemah kalimat yang berada di luar sistem chatting online. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa sistem berhasil melakukan alih bahasa chat dan pesan alih bahasa tersebut dapat diterima oleh penerima pesan teks chat. Penerjemah teks juga berhasil menerjemahkan kalimat dengan arti yang hampir mendekati bahasa terjemahan. Selain itu, arti dari kosakata yang dicari pada electronic dictionary juga dapat ditemukan dan hasil penerjemahan yang dilakukan juga hampir serupa dengan arti dari kalimat yang dimaksud.
