APLIKASI PENCARI KATA DALAM DATABASE KAMUS BAHASA KUTAI MENGGUNAKAN METODE BINARY SEARCH

Perkembangan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa persatuan dan bahasa negara tidak dapat dipisahkan dari perkembangan bahasa-bahasa daerah. Bahasa Kutai sangat rentan terhadap bahasa Indonesia lantaran tipisnya perbedaan antara kedua bahasa tersebut. Jika para penuturnya tidak konsisten dalam melestarikan maupun pengembangannya, maka bahasa Kutai pun terancam punah. Kamus merupakan media untuk memudahkan pencarian arti atay terjemah dari suatu kata. Kamus konvensional yang berbentuk buku cenderung monoton, tidak bisa ditambah ataupun diubah, serta membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama dalam pencarian katanya. Perkembangan teknologi sekarang ini dapat membawa efek positif diantaranya adalah dengan adanya program aplikasi kamus. Hasil penelitian berupa pembuatan sebuah software Aplikasi pencari kata menggunakan metode binary search dalam database Kamus Bahasa Kutai dengan maksud untuk mengenalkan perbendaharaan kata dalam bahasa Kutai sehari-hari yang telah banyak digunakan. Metode pencarian pada data terurut yang paling efisien, yaitu metode pencarian bagi dua atau pencarian biner ( binary search) . Metode ini digunakan untuk kebutuhan pencarian dengan waktu yang cepat.Diharapkan software ini dapat menarik minat pembaca, khususnya para pelajar SD dan masyarakat umum dan pada akhirnya mampu memberikan kontribusi dalam upaya pelestarian budaya asli Indonesia.
