    With the overarching spirit of “Merawat Multikulturalisme” (Nurturing Multiculturalism), Sesanti 2025 brings together scholars, researchers, and practitioners in literature, language, and the arts who critically explore how texts, performances, and cultural practices negotiate identity, diversity, and social change in contemporary contexts.Instagram

    The contributions in this issue span a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to) literary and cultural studies, linguistics and discourse analysis, translation and media studies, as well as performing and visual arts. Each article represents an extended and substantially revised version of the work presented at the seminar, and has undergone a rigorous double-blind review process in accordance with the journal’s standards.

    By documenting and disseminating these works, this special issue aims to strengthen the dialogue between local and global scholarship, highlight the richness of Indonesian and regional cultural expressions, and offer fresh perspectives on how literature, language, and the arts can contribute to more inclusive, reflective, and humane societies.

  • Special Edition: Sesanti (Seminar Nasional Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni) 2023

    The special edition of "Calls: Journal of Culture, Arts, Literature, and Linguistics" is pleased to announce the forthcoming Sesanti (Seminar on Literature, Language, and Arts) for the year 2023, scheduled to take place on July 27, 2023. This special edition of the issues is devoted to the topic "Membumikan Kesadaran Multikultural Masyarakat Melalui Ibu Kota Negara Nusantara (IKN)" with an emphasis on investigating the various aspects of cultural diversity, artistic representation, and linguistic abundance.

    The primary objective of Sesanti 2023 is to facilitate the convergence of scholars, researchers, and professionals specializing in the domains of culture, arts, literature, and linguistics. The conference intends to thoroughly examine the profound significance of IKN, the Capital City of the Nusantara Nation, as a prominent emblem of unity amongst variety. This seminar provides a distinctive opportunity for scholars to participate in interdisciplinary dialogues and intellectual interactions, illuminating the manner in which IKN (Intercultural Knowledge and Competence) plays a crucial role in promoting intercultural consciousness among the general public.

    The articles featured in this special edition explore the complex interplay between culture, arts, literature, and linguistics, and their collective influence on the diverse fabric of society. Scholars have conducted thorough analyses of the diverse elements of cultural integration, creative manifestation, and linguistic identification within the framework of IKN, while also putting up inventive approaches to enhance intercultural consciousness and societal unity.

    The Sesanti 2023 special edition is a compilation of intellectually stimulating research papers, articles, and essays, all of which have undergone rigorous peer assessment. These contributions have been made by esteemed scholars and researchers who are recognized authorities in their respective domains. Every publication contributes vital insights to the ongoing discussion on the role of IKN in fostering multiculturalism and enriching the cultural diversity of the Nusantara Nation.
